Letting the story land.

Adam Sopko

It stays with you, the brief interlude after a final shared thought and the first note of applause. That point when someone telling a story, their story, is empowered and held high for the contribution they've just made. It could be a customer. It could be an executive. It could be a partner or any attendee who just then realized they're not alone, but surrounded by people like them, trying to get better, trying to understand, trying to learn. It could be you.

That's what we work for and why we do it. And it can't be forced. We set the conditions and build the structure. We find the right story and the right room. And then we get out of the way.

Fifteen years of storytelling, brand experiences, and executive collaboration have given me a particular perspective on how to do just that. At Autodesk, I built events and content platforms at scale, developed customer stories that changed how people related to the brand, and created digital communities on lean budgets and strong conviction. At Arup, I lead strategic partnerships that bring to life our commitment to positive change and sustainability as a driver of business value. In between, I help executives tell their most important stories, narratives that are grounded in professional passion and focused on opportunity.

I'm based in San Francisco.

Global Lead, Strategic Partnerships

Arup is a global engineering and design firm with more than 18,000 professionals across 90 countries. As Global Lead, Strategic Partnerships, I manage partnerships with industry organizations, technology platforms, and companies working across the complex supply chains that support the built environment. Having spent more than a decade building programs for enterprise customers, I now manage those relationships from the customer side, which informs how I think about partnership value, accountability, and what organizations actually need from the people they work with.

Consulting & Advisory

I advise organizations and executives across events and experiences, content and customer marketing, org design, and leadership communications. Clients have included senior leaders preparing for keynote presentations, experiential agencies focused on the customer journey, organizations developing content and community programs, and executives working through narrative and communications challenges. Engagements range from strategic advisory to hands-on production and coaching.

10+ years — Autodesk

Global Events & Content Leader

For more than a decade, I led Autodesk's flagship events and content programs at global scale, managing teams of 10 to 15 direct reports, agency relationships, and multi-million dollar annual budgets. I developed a conference-as-content-factory model that treated live events as year-round production engines, and built a digital content and community platform for year-round customer learning. Outcomes: $500M in annual pipeline, 900% traffic growth, 440% user growth, 11% conference attendance growth, and +90% CSATs.

Let every experience be part of the whole.
